Yidinji Declaration 1st anniversary Workshop on Climate Justice - June 21, 2024 in Cairns - JOIN US
EAROPH Australia will convene the second Yidinji Workshop as a one day event on Friday June 21 at the Cairns James Cook University Australia campus. We hope that you will be able to join us in this event.
The theme of the workshop will be “Practical pathways to climate justice for First Nations Australians and Pacific Islanders”. We intend to build on last years' Yidinji Declaration to break new ground in pointing the way to a practical and just framework for addressing loss and damages in relation to climate impacts. This will become the Yidinji Proposition.
Working groups may be convened as a follow up to further develop the Yidinji Proposition in relation to the issues of interest to them so as to achieve practical localised proposals (this might be by way of zoom workshop sessions, with the first scheduled for Monday June 24).
It is intended that the Yidinji Proposition can then be promoted within the Asia Pacific Region before being taken to the World Urban Forum and COP 29 in November 2024.
